Characters

Gran

“I'll cross these boundless skies, to the place you promised—     I'll find you no matter what, Dad.” This hero's adventure began when he received a letter from his father asking him to come to the Island of the Astrals, Estalucia. Now he travels the skies with his flying lizard-like buddy, Vyrn, and the mysterious blue-haired girl who saved his life by linking it with her own, Lyria. Honest to a fault, he'll come to the aid of anyone who needs his assistance. Although his swordplay is rough and self-taught, he possesses the power to overcome any obstacle—thanks in no small part to Lyria's assistance.

Katalina

“I wield this sword to protect those dear to me.” A former knight of the Erste Empire. Her strong sense of justice led her to betray the empire and free Lyria, the very prisoner she was charged with guarding. Now, having become a pillar of strength for the entire crew, she is both Gran and Lyria's greatest supporter —and Vyrn's greatest admirer. She employs skillful swordplay and a magic blade in her fighting style, utilizing techniques that are peerless in both beauty and strength. When it comes to battle, there are few situations she can't handle.

Charlotta

“I shall show you why I was chosen to be captain of the Lumiel Order of Holy Knights!” A Harvin knight who serves as captain of the Lumiel Order of Holy Knights. Strict with herself, but kind to others, she's earned the trust of all her comrades and possesses superlative martial skills. But she also has a childish side, evidenced by her love of the Little Skyfarer's Lunch, a famed kid's meal popular throughout the skydoms. With gusto she swings the Claíomh Solais—a shining blade nearly the same size as its wielder—easily felling monsters that are ten times her size.

Lancelot

“I’ll guide my country with these twin blades!” A dual-wielding master swordsman who serves as the captain of the Order of White Dragons of Feendrache Kingdom. If danger would rear its ugly head in the kingdom he so loves, he would risk both life and limb to see it defeated. Despite this, he can never seem to keep his room clean. He rushes across the battlefield at blinding speed, a flurry of shining, crystalline slashes. Those who set eyes on this fighting style immediately recognize why he was made captain of his order.

Percival

“Behold the power of the Lord of Flames.” He travels to lands far and wide to learn the secrets of statecraft, all in hopes of founding his dream country. Before he set out on a journey to achieve such lofty goals, he and Lancelot served as officers in the same order of knights, studying under the same master. He received his nickname, the Lord of Flames, from the noble way he wields his blazing long sword. Those who come face-to-face with him find themselves either entranced or terrified by his abilities.

Ferry

“You’re going to admit defeat so soon? I’ve no use for untrained pets.” An Erune girl who once resided on the Mist-Shrouded Isle. She became a spirit at the moment of her death. This grim transformation occurred while she was waiting for her frail sister to return home, a period that had lasted well past her death. At Gran and Lyria's behest, she sets out on a journey to discover the whereabouts of her now-grown sibling. In addition to the crack of her whip, she fights with the faithful bite of her ghostly pets, overwhelming her opponents with phantasmagoric assaults.

Lowain

“Might just be time to bust out the formation that knocked 'em all dead back home!” A free spirit who was all about his part-time job, a good gab sesh with the boys, and a dash of adventure every now and then. That all changed when Katalina visited the restaurant where he worked. It was infatuation at first sight. Determined to follow her, he quit his job and began a new life as the cook on Gran's crew. He's a fair hand with a dagger, but with his buddies Elsam and Tomoi there to run interference and baffle opponents, he can really ruin an enemy's day... probably.

Ladiva

“Love’s bigger than all the sky... and more precious!” This Draph duelist is the star of the Jewel Resort Casino Liner. In the arena and out, she's purehearted, compassionate, and loving in every sense of the word. Her devotion to fans and formidable strength make for powerhouse performances sure to captivate any audience.

Metera

“There’s nothing I can’t do!” An Erune woman blessed with myriad talents, chief among them the abilities to wield a magic bow and to sustain flight completely unaided. She once acted as a guardian for her home village, watching over an altar where a sinister force was enshrined. But she grew tired of the mundane regimen and abandoned her post. Now she wanders wherever the wind takes her. Her arrows are a reflection of this freedom—unhindered by any obstacle and sure to find their target. Once she sets her eyes on a mark, there’s nowhere to hide.

Zeta

“Spear of Arvess! Show me your strength!” This fearless fighter belongs to the Society, an organization which hunts primal beasts. She has formed a contract with the seal weapon known as the Spear of Arvess. She and her partner Vaseraga are charged by the Society with a variety of missions. Though the two often butt heads, each has the other's complete trust. Perhaps it is the contrast between Zeta's upbeat but stubborn personality and Vaseraga's unshakable calm which makes them such good partners. In addition to the fierce mid-range spear attacks which keep her enemies at a distance, Zeta also has a talent for lightning-quick aerial combat.

Vaseraga

“Great Scythe Grynoth! Let your soul shape my blade!” This towering Draph warrior belongs to the Society, an organization which hunts primal beasts. He has formed a contract with the seal weapon known as Great Scythe Grynoth. The intimidating size of his blade and his immunity to pain sap opponents of their will to fight. Though his somber bearing and curt speech can make him seem unapproachable, he is in fact a calm, kind person who will always go out of his way to help those in need. His indomitable spirit, raw physical might, and inability to feel pain make for an overwhelmingly aggressive fighting style. Opponents are advised to approach with extreme caution.

Beelzebub

“Do you not realize your own frailty?” One of the Astrals who invaded the Sky Realm thousands of years ago, long before the War broke out. He was sealed away in Pandemonium until the fallen angel Belial released him from his forced slumber. Obsessed with becoming the supreme being, he wields a substance capable of slaying immortals—chaos matter. And at his beck and call is Avatar, the manifestation of destruction. Sky Realm, Astral Realm, Crimson Horizon—his hands will mold these realms into one so that he may stand above all in creation. *This character can be unlocked via DLC purchase or by completing RPG mode.

Narmaya

“I will continue to press on, until I reach the peak of          unparalleled strength.” A katana master who was born into a line of expert martial artists. Through diligent tempering Narmaya combined her family's martial arts with magic and formed her own unique blade technique—one which she wields with extraordinary finesse. Although her short stature may paint her as easy pickings, a wise opponent should not underestimate her ability to freely switch between Dawnfly and Freeflutter stances, lest they be cut down in the blink of an eye. Outside the heat of battle, however, she is a kind, spirited person who looks after others and seeks affection from the one who has acknowledged her, often going overboard in her unstoppable adoration.

Soriz

“My fists don't lie!” Soriz once tried his hands at wielding a weapon, before he realized that his hands themselves were the ultimate tool for battle. He threw himself wholeheartedly into training his fists, proving to the world his conviction and earning fame as a fearsome warrior. Even now he continues to hone his aged body, always striving for newer peaks. Despite his usual stoic expression, he's got quite the unsavory side hiding underneath, but most opponents are too busy facing off against his boulder-like fists and log-like kicks to do much about his discourteous behavior.

Djeeta

“I'll cross these boundless skies, to the place you promised—     I'll find you no matter what, Dad.” This heroine's adventure began when she received a letter from her father asking her to come to the Island of the Astrals, Estalucia. Now she travels the skies with her flying lizard-like buddy, Vyrn, and the mysterious blue-haired girl who saved her life by linking it with her own, Lyria. Honest to a fault, she'll come to the aid of anyone who needs her assistance. Although her swordplay is rough and self-taught, she possesses the power to overcome any obstacle—thanks in no small part to Lyria's assistance.

Zooey

”I am the will of the world.” At first glance Zooey appears to be an innocent young girl, but her true form is that of the Grand Order, a primal beast tasked with keeping the balance of the world. Abhorring chaos, she takes to the skies and readies herself to fight after sensing three singularities—Gran, Beelzebub, and Djeeta—who will disturb the equilibrium of space and time. With swordsmanship beyond mortal capabilities and lightning magic at her command, as well as the aid of her faithful dragons Dyrn and Lyrn, she will ensure balance is upheld.

Belial

“Come to papa.” Belial is a fallen angel—and one of the first primal beasts ever brought into being. He is the manifestation of cunning, earning him the sobriquet "Serpent." He plays dirty and is irreverent, and his mind swims in the gutter. The only man he respects is his own creator, Lucilius, to whom he has given the pet name "Cilius." But recently, the Singularities Gran and Djeeta have managed to catch Belial's eye. Toying with them gives him a visceral thrill. He loves nothing more than to sow chaos with Exia, then watch Gran or Djeeta struggle to restore order.

Cagliostro

“Lemme synthesize ya!” She may have springy skin and rosy cheeks, but Cagliostro is one of the oldest humans ever to sail the skies. She has evaded death and wrinkles by constantly transmuting her body. Indeed, she's even grown more adorable through the ages—the result of frequent "cuteness upgrades." Let's just say that this alchemist is more than a little obsessed with appearances. Despite her eccentricity, there is no denying that she is a genius. It was none other than Cagliostro who sealed Beelzebub in Pandemonium. And she can, in the blink of an eye, synthesize stalagmites and stalactites and giant boulders to terrorize her enemies, making her an absolute avalanche on the battlefield.

Yuel

“You just look real close at my dance, m'kay?” A spunky Erune girl who was chosen by her clan to recover an ancestral treasure. Unable to bear such a fateful burden alone, she set off into the Sky Realm with Societte, her lifelong friend. After joining the crew, she gained a reputation for being the life of the party. But on the battlefield, she became known for her elusive movements, devastating twin-blade dances, and mastery of the Foxflame.

Anre

“If peace requires that I fight... then so be it.” Anre is the Sky Realm's foremost spear master and resident sage of the Eternals. Ever calm, nothing escapes his perceptive gaze; ever vigilant, nothing pierces his ironclad defense. It was his distaste for unjustified conflict that led him to founding the Eternals, a crew of ten weapon masters that endeavor to protect the peace of the skies. And it is his distaste for unkempt facial hair that keeps his mustache in perfect form.

Eustace

“Mission accepted.” A man of few words, Eustace stops at nothing to complete his mission. He belongs to the secretive Society, same as Zeta and Vaseraga. But his loyalties are based entirely on the personal advantages he gains from working as an operative. One such privilege is Flamek, a sealing weapon capable of launching pure lightning. Should an opponent get up close and personal, Eustace is skilled with the various bladed armaments tucked into his battle suit. But his most impressive? An immense love for all fluffy creatures. He's never met a doggo he didn't adore—even if they don't always adore him back.

Seox

“It's time...” Seox, sixth of the Eternals and master of the claw, strikes down his opponents with unrivaled speed. Marred by fate, he dons many masks—both physical and emotional—to obscure his true feelings. But this won’t stop him from pressing forward on his journey of atonement. He would venture to the ends of the skies, so long as he is one day able to reunite with the person he holds dear.

Vira

“Katalina... You are all that I need in this world!” Vira is a graduate of Albion Military Academy and Katalina's underclassman. She is a fierce blademaster, once besting Katalina in single combat for the seat of Albion's Lord Commander. With the title came a contract to the primal beast Luminiera. Vira is racked by a feverish and at times violent devotion to Katalina. These tempestuous emotions are what drive her on the battlefield, and she will devastate the enemies of her beloved with the fury of a thousand hurricanes.

Avatar Belial

“I'm gonna rip out your beating heart!” After wresting the Versus Core from Beelzebub's grasp, Belial plunged it into his own body, transforming into Avatar Belial. He now wields the powers of a deity, but he is and will always be set on one thing: the resurrection of Lucilius. But for a fallen angel, the taste of unlimited power is both more exhilarating and dangerous than any wine. Now that Belial has been intoxicated with destructive impulse, there may be nothing that can stop him from obliterating the skies—not even the decay of his own body.
