Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star Announced for Nintendo Switch

Marvelous Europe are proud to announce that Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star will be launching across European and Australian territories on July 21st 2017, both physically and digitally on the Nintendo Switch as revealed during the previous Nintendo Direct presentation. XSEED Games have also announced that they will be bringing the title to North America on July 25th, 2017.

The Nintendo Switch version of Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star will include 35 previously-released paid DLC costumes, plus a Nintendo Switchexclusive outfit, the ‘Unshackled Bride Outfit’ - playable in both docked and handheld mode the game will contain the original Japanese voices featuring game text in English, Japanese, Chinese (Traditional) and Korean.

Developed by Marvelous Inc. and expanding upon the extensive Fate universe with an original story from acclaimed series writer Kinoko Nasu (of Fate/stay night fame), Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star previously released for PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®Vita, features a diverse cast of 16 playable “Servants” – ancient warriors of legend and imagination, always at the beck and call of their Masters – who survived the Holy Grail War that took place on the Moon. In a future watched over by the all-powerful lunar supercomputer, “Moon Cell Automaton,” these champions now battle for dominance over this digital realm, known as “SE.RA.PH.” This story takes place after the events described in Fate/EXTRA, and depicts the world as it appears following that previous Holy Grail War.

Players will experience the story of Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star from the independent perspectives of the three factions wrestling for control over SE.RA.PH. and face off against foes from a variety of Fate productions, including characters from Fate/EXTRA, Fate/stay night, Fate/Zero, Fate/Apocrypha and Fate/Grand Order, in fast-paced combat. A new form change battle mechanic called Moon Crux debuts in this entry to match its series-first gameplay style, transforming the player-controlled Servants and granting them considerable powers that allow them to devastate enemies and take formidable challenges head-on.

  • I’m glad some here are voicing the legitimate concerns given this unacceptable policy. You’re giving away to an audience you don’t even know whether they’ll support your games or not DLCs you still today ask day-one buyers FORTUNES (double-check the prices please) to get (not to mention a superior version of Nero’s outfit for all Switchers).

In doing so, you consider and clearly state that PS players who have been supporting your business for years are SECOND-RATE customers to you, not to mention PC players because when I do late Steam ports you don’t offer JACKSHIT DLC. I hope you won’t be surprised if some refrain from buying from you in the future and I hope Switchers will represent a great market for you because they’re the only clients you’re gonna have at the rate you’re mocking the other customers.

  • “Don’t mind the negative “fans”, I love the fact your are bringing games to the Switch , I supported the Vita release , I will do the same with the Switch! Thanks! And keep them coming!! = ]

    To Vita&SwitchLOVER:

It’s not a problem if they’re porting games to the Switch, the problem is that PS4 and Vita users that bought Fate/Extella get charged for the DLC costumes while the Switch will get them for FREE there lies the problem plus they get a better version of Nero’s bride outfit

  • How does it feel to shit so hard on your customers marvelous and xseed ?
I know it’s not you two making these decisions but frankly you’re the ones getting the feedback from us stupid gaijins.
So that’s why I’m asking you two? How do you feel about this thing?
Frankly if there’s no reaction from you two in a certain form to your customers from PS4/vita after giving out everything for free to Nintendo then you lost me as a customer for the future.
Any game I’d want from you I’d get used because the shit you’re pulling the last few months with Extella is extremely disappointing.
Your stupid bussiness moves of hiding specific DLC’s behind certain kinds of ways of getting the game from you are such extremely cheap manuveurs to bait people into buying the game several times.
What the fuck is your sales department doing thinking you can get away with this positively?

Instead of repeating the distribution of exclusive DLC skins just like the Japanese via physical Code Cards you distribute it exclusively digitally and lock it behind preorders.
And now after all this kerfuffle with your trusty Sony based fandom you decide to release a Nintendo version with another CONSOLE LOCKED DLC and adding additionally ALL DLC FOR FREE.

By the way did you seriously add the two japan pre order exclusive Saber and Nero skins https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C9UbC_8XcAAjVt4.jpg to the list of free DLC while telling us on SONY that you can’t give us those for free like all japan preorders did?? Super Rude.

I was already dissappointed enough by your rather cheap Limited editions in comparison with the japanese one. But this treatment now takes the cake.
You tell us you couldn’t deliver us certain DLC even with the 80bucks limited editions that some of us bought but then give out the same DLC to the Nintendo versions FOR FREE?

Frankly I’d give you the hint to fix the shit you’re pulling. Otherwise it won’t be only me showing you my back in the future.

  • Don’t mind the negative “fans”, I love the fact your are bringing games to the Switch , I supported the Vita release , I will do the same with the Switch! Thanks! And keep them coming!! = ]

  • You guys are absolutely insane if you think I’m going to buy ANY of your products from now on with DLC practices like this. So let me get this straight. I buy the collector’s edition and get NO DLC. Yet people who are buying the standard edition on switch get ALL of the DLC and AN EXCLUSIVE SKIN too? Please, someone from PR come and spin to me how this is fair or legit. You stabbed us in the back and I will no longer be supporting this company which is a shame because I was going to buy some fate extella costumes today too. Oh well, that’s what you guys get for pulling this stunt. Only way I could reconsider is if you dished out the skins you give switch owners to us for free too but I doubt that’ll ever happen.
